Futuristic Archaeology

 Daesung Lee

Nomadic life has been central to traditional Mongolian culture throughout history. Even with changes brought about by urbanisation in recent years, 35% of Mongolians are living a nomadic life and still depend on their vast, open land for survival. 25% of its land has turned into desert in the past 30 years, threatening the Mongolian nomadic way of life, which has been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. The photographic work of Daesung Lee is based on the idea that this Mongolian traditional nomadic lifestyle might only exist in museum in the future.

A point of view

 Thibault Jouvent

As an invitation to travel, the photographic work of Thibault Jouvent is a research on moving the eyes and creating pictures. Between the infinitely large and the infinitely small, this constellation of images gathers several photographic series that reflect a situation : the subjectivity of the way we look at the world. Based on free association between Science and Abstraction, Nature and Technology, this exploration becomes the target of negotiations between reality and fantasy.

Francesco Giusti :: Italy
The Rescue

 Francesco Giusti

At the end of 2015, Francesco Giusti spent a few weeks on the Greek island of Lesbos, where migrants mainly from Syria come aground. Repeated tragedies affecting the Mediterranean Sea and the overdose of media images have generated a sense of tolerance among the public. For these reasons, the artist wanted to approach this work in a more personal angle, bringing an incredible amount of objects, photographs, personal effects lost or rejected by migrants when they arrive. Each object was found as a unique treasure that has been brought back to life by a symbolic act of rescue. A common rescue.
